Which Campaign Type Should I Use?

When creating a campaign, you will be asked to choose between two types: a Regular Campaign and an A/B Campaign. Here is what each one does and when to use it.

Regular Campaign

A Regular Campaign is a single email sent out to your chosen subscribers. You design one version, define your recipients, and send it out.

This works well when you have a clear message to send, such as an announcement, a promotion, or a newsletter, and you already have a good sense of what your audience responds to.

A/B Campaign

An A/B Campaign lets you create two versions of the same email to see which one performs better with your subscribers. You can change anything between the two versions, whether that is the subject line, the preview text, or the email content itself.

This is a great choice when you want to learn more about your subscribers or try out a new approach. Over time, running A/B tests helps you build a clearer picture of what your subscribers engage with, which makes your future campaigns more effective.

So Which One Should I Choose?

If you have a clear message to send and are not looking to experiment, go with a Regular Campaign. If you want to test ideas and get a better understanding of your audience, an A/B Campaign is worth the small amount of extra setup time.

If you are just getting started, it is completely fine to begin with Regular Campaigns and move on to A/B testing once you are comfortable with the platform.

Tips

  • Even a small test, like trying two different subject lines, can give you genuinely useful insight into what your audience prefers.
  • The more you run A/B tests over time, the better your understanding of your audience becomes.
