What is a Sender Identity?
A sender identity is the name and email address your recipients see when you send campaigns. It defines who the email is coming from and helps build trust and recognition with your audience.
Getting Started
Before creating a sender identity, you must have a domain set up and verified.
You can either:
- Connect your own domain: https://help.campaignlark.com/knowledge-base/how-to-connect-a-domain-to-campaignlark/
- Or create a free CampaignLark domain: https://help.campaignlark.com/knowledge-base/how-to-create-a-free-campaignlark-domain/
Creating a Sender Identity
- Navigate to Settings in your workspace.
- Click on the Sender Identities tab.
- Click to create a new sender identity.
- Select the domain you want to use from the dropdown.
- Fill out the required fields:
- Display Name – The name recipients will see
- Alias – The email prefix (before the @ symbol)
- Save your sender identity.
Example
- Display Name: Maileroo
- Alias: newsletter
If your selected domain is yourdomain.com, your sender email will become:
[email protected]
What Happens Next
Once created, you’ll be able to select this sender identity when setting up and sending campaigns. So all your campaigns moving forward will be sent from this identity that you just setup.
Tips
- Use a recognizable display name to improve open rates.
- Keep your alias professional and relevant (e.g. hello, support, newsletter).
